# ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Tell me about Quantum Internet Systems.

Our company specializes in web design, Flash multimedia, and custom web based applications programming. In a world where a powerful web presence has become a necessity, count on us to give you a professional edge.

From our years of experience, we know every business has its own specific challenges. No two websites are alike, and no two clients have the same needs. But from our experience in providing custom programming solutions for large corporations, we've developed popular pre-programmed modules that give you the benefit of high function features and custom design work, without the costs of expensive custom programming.

We have the expertise to provide the most effective custom solutions for your website, whether you're a Fortune 500 company, or a sole proprietor.

# CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS)
Aren't there other CMS solutions out there which I can use to create my site on my own?
There are many CMS solutions out there, but if you choose to use them, you'll be dealing with several hurdles. First, most of the CMS solutions are limited to blogging. This may be fine for a hobby website, but for most business websites, more functionality is required. Our modules allow you to improve the function of your site by providing tools for e-mail capture, e-commerce, loyalty points, and membership payment processing which can greatly enhance your site's marketing opportunities. This makes our hosted CMS solution an invaluable tool for any growing business.

How easy is it to use your CMS to edit content?
For starters, you do not need to know a single HTML code. From color selections to our text edit feature, you can simply use your mouse to point and click and then you're done. Most users of a typical word processing program would find our interface easy to navigate and simple to master. If you are an advanced user or want to incorporate HTML tags into the website, that can also be accommodated.

How easy to use is your CMS solution?
Our aim was to create a CMS which would be intuitive and easy to navigate. You can easily locate any of your web pages and manage the programming modules through your admin page. Once you locate a module you want modify, simply click on the module name and make any changes. In addition, we are constantly updating our CMS based on our clients' feedback. This means your software is always up-to-date, and you always get the benefit of any improvements made to our software instantly, without further cost or hassle to you.

How flexible is your CMS?
Because our CMS is centralized software on a clustered server environment, this gives us incredible flexibility. For example, we had a client who needed a printable version of the page text. We felt this would be a great feature to add to our system. Our programmers set to work to modify our page text module, and as soon as it was developed, this feature became instantly available to all our existing sites.

Most CMS solutions are template based. But we know just because you may want to use some preprogrammed modules doesn't mean you want your site to suffer in design. Since our entire programming architecture was created from scratch, we had the liberty of implementing structural logic rather than using a fill in the blank method. The end result is a truly flexible system with an unlimited combination of layouts and functions. As a matter of fact, this entire site was created using our CMS.

Q. Why not purchase my own CMS solution?

A. You can purchase a CMS software created by professional companies, but the licensing fees are very expensive, and you'll still face all the hurdles of having to install the software on your server, and manage any server integration issues on your own. Traditional installed software also means you'll have to wait until the next release if you discover a bug or a feature you do not like. Because web server languages always evolve, you may have to un-install the previous version of the software. Transferring your existing clients to a new version may become an issue should you decide to upgrade to a new software version. View More

What is a WYSIWYG editor?
WYSIWYG stands for "What you see is what you get". Our WYSIWYG editor allows you to edit a page just like a mini-word processor. You can easily change the font color and size by using a dropdown menu like Microsoft Word. Once you see the desired result on the editor, simple click on the save button and your text will be published at an instant on the web site.

What is a content management system?
Web content management system or CMS is software which allows you to easily organize content (text, photos, video, etc) on your site. A typical web publishing process either involves usage of web publishing software such as Dreamweaver or Front Page which limit the functionality of your site, or the involvement of a web designer to update your content. By using our CMS software, you can bypass these two options and make any content modifications instantly in a highly functional and flexible site.

There are free CMS software solutions out there, but they are limited in function, focusing mostly on blogging or other limited social networking functions. Once you download these free CMS solutions, you still face hardware issues, server compatibility issues, and periodic updates. Since our CMS software is fully hosted, all server issues and updates to our software are automatically handled on our end.

Why not just use a downloaded CMS solution?
When you use a downloaded CMS solution, you'll still have to find a reliable hosting company and a server. You'll have to handle server integration issues on your own, or deal with hard to reach technical support. You won't know until your traffic increases whether or not your site can handle the increase in traffic. Since they are database driven, CMS solutions are, by their very nature, taxing on a server's resources. Most shared hosting environments will accommodate some traffic, but by the time your site grows and your business really begins to thrive, you'll quickly discover that your hosting company will either limit your resource usage or kick you out entirely. When you take your business seriously, it's clear neither is an option you want to face.

# CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT
I have a business which needs a totally customized programming job. How much will it cost me?
It really depends on the situation. If we can create your site using our platform and you need custom modules built on top of it, we can save you a lot of money, since most of your needs will overlap with what we can provide. If you want us to custom program a site from scratch on a server you provide, we'll have to go through the site requirements and give you a quote. We can assure you that we've never lost a job because some other company beat our price on a similar product.

# DOMAIN NAME
What happens if I already own my domain name?
If you own your domain name, you just have to point your domain name to our name server. Just call us and we'll be happy to give you all the information you need to accomplish this.

# E-COMMERCE
How flexible is your e-commerce engine?
We have been writing custom e-commerce shopping cart programming scripts for various web sites for years, and we know what features site owners typically want. We also have enough experience to come up with a flexible solution which can accommodate pretty much any e-commerce needs. We've custom programmed many shopping carts over the years, and we have integrated our newest and best version into the CMS solution we are now selling.

How many product items can I upload?
Unlike most e-commerce hosting companies out there, there is no limit to how many items you can create. You pay for the traffic usage only.

What are Purchase Points?
Purchase points are like store credits which can be prepaid at a member based web site. For example, you can create a social networking web site and make the members pay 1 purchase point in order to post an event or add to classifieds. Purchase points can be added to the shopping cart as a product item, and members can purchase them. (i.e. 10 purchase points for $5 as a sale item)

What does it involve in order to set-up an e-commerce account?
Our system is currently integrated with PayPal, Bluepay, and Authorize.net. If you want to save money, we suggest using PayPal, as there is no merchant set-up fee, no PCI compliance issue, and no monthly statement fee. All you need is a simple PayPal business account, which is very easy to set up. Once you create a PayPal account, you can accept Master Card, Visa, and Discover from people who do not have PayPal accounts.

# FLASH
Can you design my site using Flash only?
We can, however we do not recommend this practice. Although Flash is rich in visual presentation, it has limitations. Because Flash is not search engine friendly, we always try to integrate search engine friendly html codes with flash. After all, what good is a great looking website if no one can find it?

What is Flash?
Adobe Flash (previously called "Macromedia Flash"') is a multimedia platform created by Macromedia and currently developed and distributed by Adobe Systems. Since its introduction in 1996, Flash has become a popular method for adding animation and interactivity to web pages. Flash is commonly used to create animation, advertisements, and various web page components, to integrate video into web pages, and more recently, to develop rich Internet applications. (from Wikipedia)

# GENERAL
How long will it take for you to complete my website?
If you can provide us with all the text and clearly communicate your ideas about what features you want, we'll have it ready for you within a few days (usually a week or less). If the website involves totally customized programming, we'll discuss the anticipated time period with you before we begin the project.

There are so many web design companies out there. What sets you apart from the others?
While there are many design companies, few also offer customizable programming included in their base price. Because we have developed user-friendly web modules, we are able to keep our programming prices low enough to include in our base package. This means you get an extremely functional and dynamic website, rather than just a static page which is in truth, no more useful than an online business card or brochure. Go ahead. We encourage you to compare our services to those offered by any other company. You will see the value.

Why should I get a custom designed site?
Not everyone is a designer. You can certainly get a template site but you still have to know how to open and manipulate the templates with Flash or Photoshop. You can also use do-it-yourself websites, but they lack functionality and flexibility. They typically end up looking like a canned templated site. Online business is maturing, and consumers have ever-increasing expectations. This means showcasing a template cookie-cutter site can hurt your business. People tend to judge your business by the image you present to the public, so you should always try to put your most professional foot forward.

# HOSTING
What is clustered hosting?
Clustered hosting technology is designed to eliminate the problems inherent with typical shared hosting infrastructures. This technology provides customers with a clustered handling of security, load balancing, and necessary website resources.

Clustered hosting "virtualizes" the resources beyond the limits of one physical server, and as a result, a website is not limited to one server. Sites on clustered servers share the processing power of many servers and their applications are distributed in real-time. This means that they can purchase as much computing power as they want from a virtually inexhaustible source, since even the largest customer never consumes more than a fraction of a percent of the total server pool. Customer account changes (to add new resources or change settings) are propagated immediately to every server in the cluster. This is different from typical shared hosting architectures that usually require changes to a configuration file that becomes live after the server is rebooted during off hours, or are pushed on a cyclic basis every few hours.

Clustered hosting network layer protections employ intelligent routing, redundant switching fabric and built in firewall and proxy technology. Clustered hosting provides considerable advantages over traditional hosting architectures in mitigating denial-of-service attacks and other network attacks because such attacks can be dispersed over a large pool of servers, and if individual hardware components are impacted by such attacks, they automatically fall out of traffic handling during the attack. (from Wikepedia)

On a side note, most shared hosting companies will not tell you there is a site usage limit set either by the hosting company themselves or by the hardware. Typically, a shared hosting company has a limit of 100 to 150 concurrent users at any given point. They also limit the database resource usage, if your site is a database-driven site. If you decide to spend additional money and move up to dedicated or virtual private server, you'll still run into hardware limitations. By the time you upgrade your server, firewall, and a back-up system which can accommodate 400 to 500 concurrent users, you'll be paying at least $700 per month.

Since you only pay for the traffic load and there is no traffic limit set by hardware with us, you are getting best of the both worlds.

What makes your hosting environment different other hosting companies? View More
We first wanted to offer our clients with the best hosting solutions in terms of traffic scalability and network. After reviewing various hosting companies, we've chosen Rackspace. Rackspace is considered to be the best managed hosting company out there, period. Nine out of 10 Fortune 500 companies and virtually all major advertising agencies are either using Rackspace or will vouch for the company. In addition, we've created our own content management software (CMS) on clustered servers. This will allow you to easily edit any content on your site as well as handle any traffic surge. We haven't seen other web design companies with this capability yet. Typically, most web design companies will charge you arm and a leg to move your site to either dedicated or virtual private server...only to make you realize the traffic scalability issue still has not been resolved. We've been there and know what it is like having to spend too much on server management and hardware issues.

# PRICING
How can you keep your pricing so low compared to your competitors?
We realize that a typical custom web design and programming process can be time consuming and tedious. For this reason, most web design and development companies can't go below a certain price point. As an example, a typical custom e-commerce site will cost you around $2500 - $10,000. The pricing will become significantly higher if you want to integrate your e-commerce site with social networking or any other custom site functions. To overcome the time barrier imposed by a more traditional web development process, we wrote our own content management software which allows us to rapidly integrate all the necessary complex modules. As an added benefit, since we wrote the software, we don't have to pay any hefty licensing fees, and we pass this savings on to you.

# REFUND
What is your policy on issuing refunds?
If for some reason you are dissatisfied, just call or e-mail us. We will gladly refund your money if the matter cannot be resolved to your satisfaction.

# SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION OR SEO
How does your system help in terms of SEO?
Many designers tend to design websites emphasizing on visual aspect first. We, however, use the exact opposite approach. After all, what good is a pretty site if no one can find it. First, our software creates search engine-friendly URLs. This means all your pages will have key words embedded in their own web address. This is even true for product pages within your e-commerce site. Suppose you add a product called brown teddy bear which is under a category "toy" and a subcategory called "kids," a web address such as http://www.yourcompany.com/toy/kids/brown_teddy_bear/ will be added to the server automatically. In fact, studies show that a unique product page name containing keywords tends to get picked-up by major search engines better than the non-SEO optimized pages. This greatly increases the chance of someone finding your web page on the internet.

What is SEO?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks," the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. (from Wikipedia)

# TRAFFIC STATS
Do I have access to traffic stats?
We wrote the traffic analyzing software from scratch after realizing most software out there has limited features. With many traffic analysis solutions, you cannot tell which member visited specific pages how many times. For this reason, we've integrated our traffic analysis software with membership access. You'll also find many additional features useful in analyzing your traffic stats.
