Get the Facts about Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Defined... SEO is the process of increasing the amount of visitors to a web site by ranking high in the search results of a search engine. The higher a web site ranks in the results of a search, the greater the chance that that site will be visited by a user.

That's true, but simply stated, what SEO means with BringMeBiz (BMB) is online marketing success! Through extensive keyword research and analysis and by applying years of experience that has led to the optimization of over 11,000 web pages, BMB will effectively format your website so that it is "search engine friendly"... resulting in higher rankings.

Aren't most websites optimized when they are developed?
No. Only a small percentage of website designers and developers actually optimize web pages for search engine placement while they are creating a website. Most Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is done after the fact... if at all. So, optimizing your website with BringMeBiz gives you a huge advantage over the majority of your competition.

Simply adding keywords to my website's meta tag will get me ranked high, right?
Wrong. In today's world, most major search engines don't put much weight on a website's meta tag coding. BringMeBiz can develop a comprehensive optimization campaign for you that will include proper formatting of all HTML code, analysis and modifications to on-page content, increase in traffic, research and develop of link popularity... and more.

It's good to repeat a keyword many times on every page, right?
Yes... and No. While it is essential to use targeted keywords throughout your on-page content, there is a line that you can cross. It's all based on a Keyword Density Rating (KDR - explained below). An effective KDR is between 3 - 6%. Some search engines will actually penalize your website if the KDR is any higher, causing lower rankings.

How does Search Engine Optimization compare to Pay-per-click marketing?
Did you know that according much of the research that is available regarding pay per click shows that ONLY about 5% of search engine searchers ever even click any links on the right hand side of the page - or the Pay Per Click side of the page. That alone is a staggering fact. While we do not recommend stopping your PPC advertising in the event it is providing a good ROI, we simply recommend adding another potentially higher ROI layer of advertising to your online marketing efforts. Give us the opportunity to detail this a little better and explain why you should absolutely consider organic SEO.

What is a Keyword Density Ranking (KDR)?
Defined... a KDR is the ratio of the number of occurrences of a particular keyword or phrase to the total number of words in a page. With BringMeBiz you can be sure that your KDR will be properly adjusted and maintained.

The more outbound links I have, the higher my pages will rank, right?
Yes. Outbound links from your website to related or unrelated sites can help your overall page ranking.

The more inbound links I have, the higher my pages will rank, right?
Yes... and No. Having other websites link to your site is generally a good thing. However, the quality of those links is important. Links coming in from industry-related websites are reworded by the major search engines, while having too many links coming in from unrelated sites can actually be penalized causing your overall ranking to go down.

Updating my site regularly will help my rankings, right?
Absolutely. By continually updating outdated content, adding new pages, fixing broken links and performing general maintenance to your website, you will signal the search engine bots and crawlers to keep coming back and re-indexing your site. This can have a dramatic effect on increasing and maintaining your rankings over time.

When can I expect results with BringMeBiz?
Typically, you can expect to see an increase in keyword ranking in 60-90 days. Depending upon the competition and popularity of the keyword phrases chosen for your SEO campaign, results can be seen as quickly as 10-15 days or may take longer to penetrate the search engines providing marked results as far out as 4 to 6 months. BringMeBiz will help you select the keyword phrases that will provide optimal positioning in the major search engines.

Do I need to have a robots.txt file on my website?
Yes. A robots.txt file is the first thing that a search engine bot looks for when indexing your website. This file tells the search engines exactly where to go and what to index within your site.

Will having Flash on my website lower my search engine ranking?
No... if formatted correctly. This is one of the biggest myths talked about in the SEO industry. It is true that search engines cannot index the Flash piece of a website itself, but if the Flash code is formatted properly it will not have any negative effect on search engine rankings.
